Kids Art Class Term 2 2026 – Tuesdays 4pm

Mixed media art classes are a fun and adventurous class for the curious young creative!
Each Tuesday we will explore a focus concept using a range of exciting supplies. Kids will build on their learning each week, helping them to increase their skills and confidence in their art making. Some of the tools, materials and techniques we regularly use include:
- sculpture; using materials such as airdry clay, armature wire, paper, found objects, paper mache,
- drawing; pencils, pastels, watersoluble graphite, charcoal
- painting; acrylic inks and paints, watercolours, using different tools for mark making
- collage, illustrative story-telling, collaborative art, print making
Our main priority is for kids to create fearlessly! Our projects aim to encourage each child to express themselves individually and create art that interests them. We believe the most successful artists are the ones that keep making art!
The nitty gritty details:
- Suitable for kids aged 7 to 12 years. No experience necessary, just a willingness to give it a try each week!
- Every Tuesday 4pm to 5pm for 8 consecutive weeks (April 28th to June 16th 2026)
- All materials supplied.
- Please ensure kids DRESS FOR A MESS!
- RESERVED spots are by invitation only – if you are not a continuing student or directly offered a waitlist spot, please do not book a reserved spot. Your booking will be cancelled and refunded, less a $10 administration fee.
To be able to continue offering kids classes, Rhi now runs many sessions with her daughter in tow. Please only book if you are comfortable with this.
This is a drop and run class! The Makers Nook is a safe and small studio so that all students get the time and attention they deserve, and this means we do not have space for extra people not in a class seat.
Classes require a minimum attendance to run. In the event that enrolment numbers are low, we may reschedule or cancel the class. At the latest you will be notified via email the day before the scheduled start date of term.
