Introduction to Handbuilding Pottery – Tuesdays 5:30pm

Feeling inspired to try your hand at pottery?

Come along to the Nook for our Introduction to Handbuilding Pottery 4 week course! You’ll learn the craft of pinching, coiling, slabs, simple sculpting, and various decorating techniques while being supported to create pieces that are interesting to you.

What’s included?

• 4 consecutive weeks of 2 hour classes on a Tuesday or Wednesday (day/time per selection)
• All tuition, tools and materials to make and decorate 4-10 pieces (depending on size)
• Use of at least two different clay bodies, underglazes, several glaze choices, bisque and glaze firing
• Size restrictions apply to individual pieces due to the constraints of our kiln
• Prolific makers can purchase extra clay at $5/kg and pay for additional glazing/firing at $25/kg (weighed post firing)
• Final pieces will be available for collection from the Nook 5-6 weeks after your course end date

Additional Information

This class is for adults and mature youth (14+).

We recommend having trimmed nails and wearing clothing you don’t mind getting a little messy in.

You are welcome to arrive up to 5 minutes early to get yourself settled in (no earlier please, as we may still be resetting the space from a previous class).

PLEASE NOTE If we don’t reach minimum bookings, we will reschedule the class. Please check your emails and social media the morning of your first session, you will only hear from us if the course is cancelled.
