Come along to the Nook for two relaxing hours of dedicated creative time on a Wednesday evening or Friday afternoon! There is a set medium and theme for each session – but you won’t know what it is until you arrive!
These sessions have a process art focus. This means we’re more interested in the experience of experimenting with the materials and themes, rather than the outcome.
This is a chance for you to sink into your creative practice without the distractions from home, and the expectations of finishing ‘good’ art. Stretching yourself creatively with unexpected mediums and themes is a great way to loosen up, find new interests, and/or shift a creative block. Make a cuppa, relax to some chill tunes, and get to know some other local creatives while you do your art thing.
What’s included?
- Each session Rhi will prepare a theme and have certain materials on the tables for you to explore (for example, it may be a charcoal still life, or watercolour insects, then mixed media birds, watersoluble graphite portraits, and so on).
- This is not a tutored class. Rhi will give an introduction to the materials, the theme, and be there to provide a little guidance if needed, but for the most part she will be exploring the themes alongside you. Please come with a willingness to play!
- The Makers Nook is a beginner friendly and safe creative space.
- Complimentary tea and coffee available. BYO snacks, other drinks.

This session is for adults only.
You are welcome to arrive up to 5 minutes early to get yourself settled in (no earlier please, as we may still be resetting the space from a previous class).
