Young Teens Art Class Term 3 – Wednesdays 4pm

Mixed media art classes are a fun and adventurous class for the curious young creative!
Each Wednesday we will explore a focus concept using a range of exciting supplies. Students will build on their learning each week, helping them to increase skills and confidence in their art making while gathering with a group of like-minded peers.
We rotate techniques/materials and tailor the term to the interests of the group. Some of what we do includes:
- Sculpture: pottery clay, airdry clay, papier mache, 3D canvasses
- Painting: watercolours, gouache, acrylics, inks
- Sketching: pencils, pens, watersoluble graphite, pastels
- Stitching: mixed media embroidery, handsewn plushies/keychains
Here at the Nook, our main priority is for young people to create fearlessly! Our projects aim to encourage each young person to express themselves individually and create art that interests them. We believe the most successful artists are the ones that keep making art!
The nitty gritty details:
- Suitable for 12-15 years (year 7 onwards). No experience necessary, just a willingness to give it a try each week!
- Every Wednesday 4pm to 5pm for 9 consecutive weeks (July 23rd to September 17th)
- All materials supplied.

This is a drop and run class! The Makers Nook is a safe and small studio so that all students get the time and attention they deserve, and this means we do not have space for extra people not in a class seat.

Classes require a minimum attendance to run. In the event that enrolment numbers are low, we may reschedule or cancel the class. At the latest, you will be notified via email the day before the scheduled start date of term.
