ABOUT THE MAKERS NOOK
The Makers Nook was founded on the idea that every person can create art, some people just need a little help to kickstart their creative journey. So we offer a welcoming and comfy place to nestle in, enjoy a cuppa, get your hands busy, and your imagination flowing.
Here at The Nook, we’re big believers in starting where you are, taking it as far as you like, and enjoying the process. Whether that means you like to keep it fun and social like Create & Sip, or you prefer delving deeper into techniques and theory – we just want you to get creating!
To give you the best kickstart we can, we’ve invested in professional quality supplies, our classes are kept small for more individual attention, and we offer a gentle and supportive teaching approach. You may not learn how to become a master potter or painter in our studio, but with our support, you will learn how to jump the first hurdle of getting started and gain the confidence to keep going.
OUR PEOPLE
Rhi
Rhi has been a fulltime potter since 2019, working from her rural home studio in the Nambucca Valley. Her favourite style of pots are thoughtfully imperfect, with many intentional details on forms that rebel cookie cutter perfection. She has been sketching, painting, sculpting and generally creating since a child, and loves to share the joy of it all any chance she gets!
Prior to taking up clay fulltime, Rhi was a youth support worker for many years, gained a degree in Zoology and had aspirations of becoming a marine biologist – if only she could shake that pesky seasickness!
Rhi has a valid Working with Children Check and is committed to keeping kids safe at The Makers Nook.
